How you can pay
We accept major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard and American Express, along with the digital wallets shown at checkout, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay. The full list of methods available to you appears on the payment step; if a logo is not shown there, we cannot accept it.
All prices and charges are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where it applies. There are no customs duties or import fees to pay on delivery, and we never add a handling or processing surcharge.
Our company is based in the United States, so some banks may treat your payment as an international transaction. If you are unsure whether your bank charges for this, check with them before you buy.
When your card is charged
Your card is authorised when you place the order and charged when the order is accepted. If we cannot fulfil an order, the authorisation is released or the charge is refunded in full. You are never charged for something we do not send.
The charge appears on your statement as ORTHOPLUSH. If you see a charge you do not recognise, email us before disputing it. We can usually identify it within one working day and resolve it faster than a chargeback can.
How your payment details are protected
Checkout runs on Shopify's payment infrastructure, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified, the highest level of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. Every page on this site is served over an encrypted TLS connection.
We never see your full card number. Card details go directly to the payment processor and are never stored on our systems. We receive only an approval or a decline, the card brand and the last four digits: enough to help you with an order, and nothing more.
If a payment is declined
A decline comes from your bank, not from us, and we are not told the reason. The usual causes are a mistyped card number or expiry date, a billing address that does not match your bank's records, insufficient funds, or your bank's fraud filter flagging an online purchase. Check the details, or call the number on the back of your card. You can also try a different card or a digital wallet.
Fraud screening
Orders are screened automatically for signs of fraud. On rare occasions we may email you to confirm details before we dispatch, or cancel and refund an order we cannot verify. This protects you as much as it protects us: if your card is used without your permission, we would rather stop the order than send it.
Gift cards
Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash, except where the law requires otherwise.
